Vortex G25; New High-End Gaming PC from MSI
Since MSI (Micro-Star International) has focused on gaming, there have been many desktop PCs popping up. Of the many MSI products, this is Vortex the arrival of the latest product which is claimed to be the smallest and lightest gaming PC in the world; Vortex G25
After being introduced for the first time at the Computex Taipei 2021 event, this High-End PC Gaming was officially launched in conjunction with the opening of the MSI Concept Store at Bukit Bintang Park Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on October 18, 2021.
Vortex G25 Desain Design
The model name G25 is meant to represent the sheer volume and weight of this device so it’s easy to remember: it measures just 2.5-liters and weighs 2.5-kilograms. Due to its size and weight, this device is easy to carry everywhere.
This High-End Gaming PC features an asymmetrical octagonal design that looks charming. This device can be positioned directly or erected with a stand. This Vortex G25 has dimensions of 279 x 331 x 43 mm, decorated with a series of RGB LEDs that can be customized via the Mystic Light app and has a glowing dragon logo.
In addition, all MSI gaming products are already VR ready devices including the Vortex G25. Not only in terms of hardware, but in terms of design this device also supports VR content by presenting an HDMI port, a pair of USB 31 and USB type-C ports and an audio port on the front to make it easier if you want to connect to an HMD Vive or Rift or other VR devices. .
This High-End Gaming PC is also supported by a VESA standard mounting system which means this gaming PC can be ‘hidden’ behind your favorite monitor or HDTV and can also be placed on the wall if you want your gaming table to look neat. Users can also add memory (dual DDR4 slots) and storage easily without using a screwdriver because there are screws that can be pulled out easily.
Hardware Composition
On the inside, the Vortex G25 is equipped with an eighth-generation Intel Core i7 processor which is reportedly 30 percent higher in performance than the seventh-generation Intel Core i7. There are two versions of the Vortex G25, namely 8RE and 8RD.
The difference between the two versions above only lies in the type of graphics card; The Vortex 8RE uses an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070, 8GB GDDR5 graphics card while the Vortex 8RD uses an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, 3 Gb/6GB GDDR5 graphics card. Vortex G25 is equipped with 2400MHz x 4 st DDR4 RAM with a maximum of 64GB, PCIe NVMMe M.2 SSD storage and one 2.5-inch SATA HDD, then its power is supplied by a 330W adapter for the 8RE model and 230W for the 8RD model.
Especially for the 8RE model, this device is also equipped with Wi-Fi Killer DoubleShot Pro with Killer Shied and Bluetooth 4.1. Connectivity includes four USB type-A, two USB type-C (one of which is supported by Thunderbolt 3), two HDMI ports, a GbE LAN port, and an audio port.
G25 . Vortex Cooling System
The Vortex G25 uses the Cooler Booster Titan cooling technology found in GT gaming notebooks. This technology consists of two Whirlwind fans that have 29 and 19 blades respectively, eight cooling pipes to dissipate heat in the CPU and GPU and eight circulation windows of which five are for supplying cold air and the remaining three for exhausting air.
With this cooling system, this gaming PC will not make a sound above 40 decibels when used for gaming. Fyi, generally thin gaming devices like Vortex G25 can produce sound up to 65 dB
Vortex G25 price
MSI hasn’t revealed the exact price of the Vortex G25, but has mentioned a figure of US$ 2,000 to US$ 3,000. The plan is that MSI will bring this gaming PC to Indonesia in November, along with the announcement of two other ‘interesting surprises’.
