The International 2021 Dota 2 Tournament Officially Postponed

After many worries from fans, finally Valve will officially postpone The International 2021 to 2021. This is as announced by Valve through the official blog Dota 2 today.

According to Valve, this decision was made because after monitoring the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and how a series of events The tournament has been canceled due to the global coronavirus pandemic, which is unlikely to end before August.

Valve mentions that many things led to this decision being taken. Some of them are concerns about the spread of the virus, policies regarding travel abroad, to the prohibition on gathering in one place. In addition, the fact that the development of this pandemic is still unpredictable makes them unable to do much.

Valve also mentioned that they are trying to overhaul the 2021-2021 DPC which was supposed to start next fall and will provide a follow-up announcement soon. Valve has held discussions with the organization, partners, sponsors, and tournament organizers about overhauling the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit.

The developer also mentioned that the next Battle Pass, of which 25 percent will be donated to prize pool The International 2021 will be releasing in the near future. This means that even if The International 2021 itself is postponed, you can still purchase the Battle Pass and enjoy the content while contributing to the prize pool The International 2021.

But because of the effect work from home, Battle Pass processing is slower than usual. This makes the release of Battle Pass slightly delayed from the usual schedule, which is this month, aka exactly three months before The International starts.

The question is, of course, will this Battle Pass be valid until The International 2021 starts? Then most importantly, when will The International 2021 be held?
