Stumbling with Visa Problems, Geek Fam Withdraws From ESL One Hamburg 2021, Alliance Enters To Replace
Tournament Dota 2 ESL One Hamburg 2021 will start on October 25th. But the bad news came from Geek Fam who couldn’t attend due to visa issues. They would eventually be replaced by the Alliance.
Geek Fam got a slot to ESL One Hamburg 2021 after winning the Southeast Asia qualification, beating teams like SG Dragons and BOOM Esports. This is their first success since recruiting players who are quite experienced at roster they.
Inviting Alliance which is a team from Europe to fill the Southeast Asian slot may seem unfair to the region. ESL went on to explain that despite being eager to find a replacement Southeast Asian team, it was difficult for this regional team to claim a visa to Europe in just one week’s time. Since it was held in Hamburg, ESL decided to invite a European team as a substitute.
As much as we wanted to invite another SEA team, it would unfortunately be impossible for them to obtain a VISA on such short notice. Thanks for your understanding!

Apart from that, ESL One Hamburg 2021 will still be attended by 12 teams. Some of them are teams with brand big ones like Team Liquid, Virtus.Pro, and TNC Predator. But considering the majority of the team Dota 2 currently playing with roster new and never been tested in a major tournament, it’s hard to guess who will be seeded in this tournament.
