Sony Introduces 3 New Controllers For PlayStation 4
The PlayStation game console’s DualShock controller was originally provided as a secondary control controller for the PlayStation. But now the DualShock has become part of the identity of the Sony console because of its iconic design and for the first time offers a vibrating sensation when played. DualShock has undergone three evolutions and even in this era Sony has expanded the choice of gamepads for PlayStation products through officially licensed products.
If you’re tired of the DualShock’s appearance or feel that the controller isn’t comfortable to use because your hands are small, don’t worry. Sony has officially introduced 3 new controllers for PlayStation 4 (PS4) produced by third parties that have been officially licensed by Sony; namely Nacon, @Play and Hori. Two controllers are categorized as compact controllers, while the other is called a mini gamepad.
This is done by Sony considering that many gamers have small hands, such as children, so the DualShock is not really suitable for them. This is what underlies Sony to appoint a third party to produce compatible controllers for PS4 as well as gamers.
Nacon Wired Compact Controller
As the name implies, Nacon’s ‘compact controller’ is designed for gamers who have small hands. This gamepad adopts a number of elements contained in the Evolution Pro Controller, equipped with a touchpad that is easily accessible by fingers, stereo audio port, vibrating motor, and LED indicator lights to display info related to the game being played. This compact controller is equipped with a 3 meter long cable to connect to the PlayStation 4.
The Nacon Wired Compact Controller will be available in five color options, namely black, blue, orange, gray and red. In addition, there is also a transparent controller variant with extra LEDs (red, blue and green) on the inside. Nacon Wired Compact Controller is planned to be marketed in November. For information, Nacon has previously collaborated with Sony in presenting pro-class gamepads and eSport support devices that were also issued by Razer.
@Play Wired Compact Controller
@Play is one of the most popular peripheral manufacturers among console gamers. @Play is famous for having simple but comfortable gaming products. This @Play Wired Compact Controller for PlayStation 4 delivers essential functions for gamers, such as an audio jack, touchpad and vibration motor. This Compact Controller made by @Play also utilizes a cable to connect to the PS4
From the looks of it, the @Play Wired Compact Controller looks so simple and the design looks more ergonomic than the standard DualShock 4. The @Play Wired Compact Controller will come in four color options, namely dark gray, white-black, blue-black, and red-black. The product will be available in December.
Hori Wired Mini Gamepad
This product is a mini gamepad by Hori that is tiny and suitable for young gamers. The Hori Wired Mini Gamepad’s design is inspired by retro controllers. This can be seen from the buttons and thumb sticks that are easy to reach. The size of the touchpad is also reduced but can still simulate the sensation of using a standard touchpad. The Hori Wired Mini Gamepad also uses a cable to connect to the PS4. The Hori Wired Mini Gamepad will be available in three color options, namely blue, red and black and will be on sale starting November 6th.
The three controllers above are planned to be released in Europe in the months previously mentioned. There is no price information or arrival schedule in other regions, including Indonesia.
