Recap Day Five of The International 2021 Playoffs
The International 2021 is nearing its end. With the completion of the fifth day playoffs, only Evil Geniuses, PSG.LGD, and OG managed to survive on the last day. But who was in the advantageous position was probably beyond everyone’s guess.
The fourth day playoffs opened with a match lower bracket between Team Liquid and Team Secret. Team Liquid opens draft with first pick Broodmother which has become their trademark. Apart from Alchemist, Team Secret couldn’t answer the Broodmother so they had to give up on games first.
On games second, Team Liquid returned to using Broodmother. Team Secret this time took Monkey King to answer the Broodmother. Unfortunately that wasn’t enough either, especially when Miracle- helped use Invoker. Team Liquid advance to the next round in lower bracket facing the waiting Evil Geniuses.
The second match was probably one of the best at The International this time around. As underdog, OG surprises champions PSG.LGD. They managed to steal games first with line-up unique that can blow last pick Huskar from PSG.LGD.
PSG.LGD then replied at games second. Even though he was left behind at the beginning of the game, Maybe who used Storm Spirit was able to get up and take advantage of some mistakes made by OG.
Games the third is also controlled by PSG.LGD thanks to the rotation of Fy with Clockwerk which makes room for carry PSG.LGD for farm. OG with line-up who focus on late game trying to slow down the tempo of the game by split push from Topson with the Arc Warden. OG had occasionally managed to get kill important, but PSG.LGD could hit back quickly and hold on to their lead.

PSG.LGD then all-in, using all buy back they have to end the game. But OG managed to survive, killing four PSG.LGD heroes, and ending the game with a push in mid.
PSG.LGD down to lower bracket and had to face Evil Geniuses who in the last match managed to beat Team Liquid 2-0.
There’s not much to talk about in the Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid matches. Two games in a row, Team Liquid lost in terms of draft, strategy, and also execution in the game. The brilliant performance of the Evil Geniuses players also made the American team’s victory look very easy.
The last day of The International 2021 will start tonight. OG who are already in the final round will wait for their opponent from the results of the PSG.LGD match against Evil Geniuses in the lower bracket final.
