PUBG Lite Closes This Month, Only Lasts 2 Years

Telset.id, Jakarta – The free version of the low-spec PUBG game for PC, PUBG Lite, will close at the end of April. This game will be retired after two years of global launch.

PUBG Studio as the developer did not provide information on why they decided to close PUBG Lite. However, this closing process has already begun.

Reported Telset from Dot Esports, Thursday (1/4/2021), PUBG Lite is no longer active and can no longer be downloaded by gamers since 30 March.

This game service will completely die on April 29 next. Following the shutdown of all support for players on 29 May.

“We would like to express our deepest apologies and appreciation to everyone,” said PUBG Studio without explaining the reason why PUBG Lite was closed.

PUBG Studio last provided an update for PUBG Lite at the beginning of last year. This update brings the Vikendi map to the game.

PUBG Lite first launched in Thailand on January 24, 2021 with a beta test version. This game has the same gameplay mechanics as PUBG on PC.

The difference is, this game requires lower specifications than the original version. A PC or laptop with “potato specs” can play this game smoothly.

This light version of the PUBG game quickly entered other countries and regions, including Southeast Asia and several other Asian countries in the same year. The same is true for Latin America and Europe. (MF)
