Nepal Unblock PUBG Mobile

Telset.id, Jakarta – Gamers in Nepal can now breathe a sigh of relief, because the country’s government has canceled the plan to block PUBG Mobile. Reportedly, the cancellation was carried out directly by the Supreme Court of Nepal.

As is known, in early April 2021, the Nepalese government followed the lead of the Indian government which assessed PUBG to have a bad impact and directly endanger the health of its players.

Previously, the Supreme Court stated that it had investigated the blocking policy PUBG Mobile. The agency wants to ensure that the policy is fair and well-founded.

However, according to the Times of India, the Supreme Court held that the blocking was unwarranted. The Supreme Court is concerned that the blockade will limit individual freedoms in the country.

This is slightly different from most cases in India where some local governments block PUBG Mobile. The number of accidents and cases of violence in India is often associated with the bad attitude of players who are considered addicted to this game.

Even the provincial government in India does not hesitate to arrest people who are caught playing games PUBG Mobile in public places with the help of the police. Several months ago in Indonesia, PUBG Mobile was also the subject of debate whether it deserved to be blocked or not.

Some parties, including the media, think that PUBG Mobile is related to the terrorist shootings at two mosques in the city of Christchurch, New Zealand. The debate arose because of the allegation that the act of terror was inspired by the PUBG Mobile game. [BA/HBS]
