Injustice 2 Nintendo Switch Version, Really?
Injustice 2 is one of several phenomenal games released in 2021. Released on May 11, 2021, this console and mobile game offers the sensation of a battle between antihero and superhero characters that takes place in the DC Comics world. NetherRealm Studios is a games studio that developed these games. The studio itself was previously famous for the Mortal Kombat X fighting games.
The huge popularity of the game Injustice made Ed Boon the game creator want to make this game available on game platforms other than Xbox One, PS4, and mobile. One game platform that popped into Ed Boon’s mind was the newest console from Nintendo, the Nintendo Switch. Let’s take a look at Ed Boon’s interview about the Nintendo Switch version of Injustice 2.
Ed Boon interview
Not long ago, Ed Boon was interviewed by Gamespot. Boon, in his interview, said that he had an idea about expanding the fighting game Injustice 2 and other games from NetherRealm to the Switch.
However, he said that the move had a negative impact, namely that the graphical display quality of Injustice 2 and other NetherRealm games would be below the Xbox One, PS4, and mobile platforms. He exemplified it with the Atari 2600 .
“We can all work on any game. Just be free. I can develop Injustice games for the Atari 2600 platform. Of course the graphics will not be the same as the PS4 platform, but at least Injustice is available on the Atari 2600,said Boon.
“From a gamer’s perspective, playing Injustice 2 games on the Switch platform is an okay idea. I thought the same. Imagine, later the Nintendo Switch owner will have a tournament, the gameplay will be parallel to that on the PS4 games platform, maybe there will be many new things,‘ he continued.
Boon has indeed said that he is interested in the idea of this console game for the Switch version. However, the certainty of the release of the Nintendo Switch version of Injustice 2 and other NetherRealm games to the Switch in the near future was not stated. If this happens, Boon and the game development team will need help from third parties in order to adapt these games to the Nintendo Switch platform.
