1. Using Line
The first way to create a dotted line in Word is to use Line which you can find in the Insert menu. Here are the steps.
1. First, please open Microsoft Word on your PC or laptop.
2. Then, please go to the top menu and click Insert. As shown in the image below.
3. Then, please click the menu Shapes. As in the image below.
4. Then, please choose the shape Line what do you want. For example like the image below.
5. Then, on the menu tab Format please click menu Shape Outlines. As shown in the image below.
6. Then, several menu options will appear that you can use, such as changing the color, thickness, shape, and direction. Before converting straight lines to dotted lines, here I changed the thickness to make it more visible. Please select the menu Weight to change its thickness, as shown in the image below.
7. Then, now change the line to dotted, please click the menu Dashes then there will be many choices of dotted lines that you can use. Please choose according to the line you want, as shown in the image below.

2. Using Rectangle
