Floor Is Lava is a simple concept that most of us have been playing with for decades. The creators of this TV show – Irad Eyal and Megan McGrath – recently sat down with THR to “tell it all” with all sorts of good news from behind the scenes of the hit Netflix series.

Although the two continued to reveal more about the TV show, they refused to answer how the production team came up with the idea of ​​making the red lava fire that the TV show was based on. According to McGrath, they kept everything locked up simply because it took them so long to make potions.

“We’ve commissioned Hollywood’s biggest chemist and slime/goopy producer to make our lava,” McGrath said. “We’ve done a lot of research into what lava looks like and how it moves and how it can glow and we’re trying to really make it on our show. We spent months testing different lavas and different formulas.”

Eyal added, “The reason why we are so secretive about it is because it really took a long time to resolve this issue. We want the lava to shine. ‘Oh, that’s easy,’ said the chemists, ‘we can add some glowing chemicals. ‘Yeah, they turned out to be carcinogenic, so you couldn’t have them there. So it took a long time to figure out exactly how we make these things swell, flow, get slippery, get thick the right way, and it’s also safe that people can drown in them for minutes or hours and get out safely. .
