Finishing Fourth in the Major Qualification Group, BOOM Esports Must Be Satisfied with Fighting for Minor Slots

The group phase for the MDL Chengdu Major qualifiers started from 5 to 6 October. Out of 10 teams, four teams are entitled to advance to the round playoffs qualification to compete for three slots for the first Major at the Dota Pro Circuit 2021. Unfortunately, BOOM Esports is not one of the four teams.

In this qualifying group phase, the 10 teams will be divided into two groups and play in a round robin best of two. Two teams from each group are entitled to advance to the round playoffs to fight for tickets to the Major.

Unfortunately, BOOM Esports did not make it out of the group phase and had to settle for the bottom two places in Group A. But because the Southeast Asia region got three slots to the Major, BOOM Esports had the opportunity to play in the Minor qualifier. But for that they have to win tie-breaker with SG Dragon to secure group four rankings. Fortunately in best of one decider, BOOM Esports managed to beat SG Dragon.

With this result, BOOM Esports will play one game best of three face the Reality Rift. After that they will play with three other teams for the Minor qualification, namely Dota Summit 11.

Decider between BOOM Esports will compete today. After that the Major qualification will be continued in the round playoffs.
