Fantastic, Sony Officially Invests IDR 2.9 Trillion in Epic Games

GridGames.ID – The closeness between Sony and Epic Games is re-established through a business relationship.

On April 13, Sony decided to invest USD 200 million or around IDR 2.9 trillion in Epic Games.

Launching from the official Epic Games website, this Rp 2.9 trillion investment from Sony is part of the Funding Round which has a target of USD 1 billion or around Rp. 14.6 trillion.

Tim Sweeney as CEO of Epic Games more specifically revealed that this investment will be used to accelerate Epic Games’ work in building Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys.

In addition, the investment funds will also be used to empower game developers and creators of Unreal Engine, Epic Online Services, and the Epic Games Store.

Even though Epic Games is in a legal conflict with Apple, Sony continues to disburse its investment funds.

Sony seems to have chosen to set aside the conflict between Apple and Epic Games for the greater good.

Launching from The Verge, Kenichiro Yoshida as CEO of Sony said that Sony is excited to strengthen collaboration with Epic Games to bring new entertainment experiences to the world community.
