Elden Ring: Trailer and Release Date Revealed!

Elden Ring is a new game made by Dark Souls developer FromSoftware that has been waiting for finally to come out of hiding. Bandai Namco as the publisher gave fans a new look at the epic fantasy role-playing game during the Kickoff Summer Game Fest live broadcast on Thursday.

The new Elden Ring trailer shows off gameplay for the first time, gameplay that fans of Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will look very familiar with. In addition, the release date was also revealed, in which the game is planned to launch on January 22, 2022 for PC platforms, current generation consoles and the last generation.

The Elden Ring seems to have many elements that Dark Souls players are familiar with with swords and magic, summonable allies, and giant mythological monsters to battle. But it has something FromSoftware fans aren’t used to: horses. For those of you who are curious about the gameplay, please watch the video below.

Previously, Elden Ring was discussed, precisely in June 2021, when FromSoftware and Bandai Namco officially revealed the game. Elden Ring launched at E3 that year as “the greatest game to date” and is said to be set in “a vast universe steeped in a rich and bloody history”.

Miyazaki, the designer of Dark Souls, said that Elden Ring would be “full of things we couldn’t do in the Dark Souls series.” The game will “focus more on RPG elements,” he said in an interview in 2021, and “will include a wide variety of weapons, magic, and ways to engage enemies that will allow the user to give the user a style of play, and a strategy that suits them.”

FromSoftware fans have since been plagued by the recall of Elden Ring’s information, leading the community to fill in the gaps with its self-made lore.

Elden Ring is slated for release on January 21, 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
