How to install ssd on laptop

How to install ssd on pc computer

To install an SSD on a PC, the method is more or less the same as above. But here we need to know a few things first.

Does the motherboard support ssd?

First, check your pc’s motherboard specs. This is related to the ssd you are using.

Check the sata slot support found on the motherboard. Is it sata 2 or sata 3.

On average, the latest ssd uses a sata 3 port. Sata 3 provides better access speeds than sata 2. Even though the slot types are exactly the same, what matters is whether your mainboard supports one of them.

If the mainboard still uses sata 2, while the ssd to be installed already supports sata 3, then the results will not be optimal.

You will not get the maximum ssd speed.

What cable is connected to the ssd?

If you are using an ssd with sata 3 also make sure the port connected from the mainboard and the ssd is a sata3 port, not a sata 2 port.

Where will the ssd be placed?

Open your PC case.

See the cable path that connects the sata port to the hard drive.

Put the ssd in a safe position. The secure position of the SSD is usually placed in layers with the PC’s internal hard disk whose size can be 3.5 inches or 2.5 inches.

What to do after installing the ssd?

After installing the ssd, if it is empty, do reinstall the os (operation system).

Do not forget to reset the boot position on the bios of your computer / laptop. Position the ssd to boot the first time.

Or if your PC has OS installed and you still want to use the old OS, you can do hard disk cloning.

But cloning from the hard drive to the ssd is better to do for the specs of the same ssd brand. For example, hdd wd blue with ssd wd blue. The wd brand has provided special software for those of you who want to clone from one hard drive to another.
