2021 DAC Group Phase: Perfect Virtus.Pro, TNC Wins Five Team Tiebreaker

Just in the group phase, the 2021 Major Dota 2 Asia Championship tournament has been very fierce. All teams are fighting each other for winning points to the point that they have to play tiebreaker which is quite long.

Of the two groups in this phase, group B ended without many surprises. Virtus.Pro, which is the best team at the moment, dominated and ended the group with a perfect result. Mineski surprisingly followed in second place with one defeat. Meanwhile Evil Geniuses, Team Secret, Invictus Gaming, and VGJ.Thunder will play in the Breakout round.

Group A was not as smooth as group B. After three of the four group stage days, the only clear result in this group was Keen Gaming dropping out of the tournament. Even after all the matches on the fourth day were finished, the top five teams had an even score. While the two teams at the bottom also have the same score.

Like it or not, the final group result must be decided by tiebreaker which is quite long.

The two teams at the bottom of the table are OG and Vici Gaming. In the match best of one, Vici Gaming has won games the determination. They have the right to advance to the Breakout round, while OG fall out of the tournament.

While in tiebreaker the top five, surprisingly able to win all the matches and become group winners. LGD followed in second place. Team Liquid and Newbee on the other hand were disappointing and had to settle for only advancing to the Breakout round with OpTic Gaming.
