UPH EKSDI’s journey in the LNCC event was quite difficult, the Pelita Harapan University representative team had to compete with dozens of other university representative teams to get a spot in the grand final. And in the final round, they had to face a superior team, namely MARANATHA STUFF in a fierce match that finally crowned UPH EKSDI as the champion and brought home a cash prize of 35 million rupiah.

lncc1This 6-member team was formed by Jeremy “Tibold” Yulianto and Florian “Wolfy” George after Garena Indonesia announced the LNCC. In order to realize their dream, which is to become a champion in the LNCC event and also represent Indonesia at the Taiwan LICC, UPH EKSDI prepares itself with rigorous training. “We have been preparing for more than a month, especially in the last two weeks we have increased the training schedule to become more intense, where in a day we can play together for more than 5 hours,” explained Jeremy “Tibold” Yulianto.

Besides UPH EKSDI as the first winner, the 2021 LNCC event at the Taman Anggrek Atrium Center also gave birth to Alvin “Vinsanity” Risdianto as the best player and received the MVP title. This ADC from UPH said, “I never thought that today I would be awarded the title as the best player. Obviously, I didn’t get this title because of myself, but because I have a team that always supports me from behind. Therefore, I dedicate this MVP title to my team, UPH EKSDI.”

lncc3In November, UPH EKSDI will head to Taiwan to participate in the Inter-campus League of Legends International Collegiate Championship (LICC) tournament. As the team chosen to represent Indonesia, Jeremy “Tibold” Yulianto said, “The competition in the LICC will be much tougher than the 2021 LNCC, considering that later we will no longer face opponents from within the country, but from the world. Because of this, we know, it will be very difficult for us to be champions there”. “But, we will still try our best to make Indonesia proud. And, yes, this will be the biggest and most valuable experience for us as students.” carry on top liner from this UPH.
