Among Us Increasingly Popular, Developers Cancel the Sequel, Why?
Developer Among Us some time ago it was announced that it would plan to make a sequel Among UsHowever, due to the increasing popularity of this game, the developer canceled plans for the sequel.
“The main reason we made a sequel is because of the codebase Among Us 1 very outdated and not built to support adding a lot of new content,” said Innersloth, developer of Among Us, as quoted by S from The Verge, Friday (25/9/2021).
“However, seeing how many people enjoy Among Us 1 makes us want to support this game and take it to a new level,” he continued.
Among Us is actually a 2 year old game, which means this game was first released in 2021, but this game only became popular around August 2021 after many gamers and streamers on Twitch played the game.
Among Us is a multiplayer game that presents 4-10 players on a spaceship that is divided into 2 camps, namely Crewmate and Impostor. Impostor usually consists of 1-3 players and they are tasked with posing as Crewmates, sabotaging planes, and killing Crewmates, while the rest are Crewmates who are tasked with repairing planes and also finding Impostors who sabotage their planes.
Among Us available on Steam and can be downloaded by paying only Rp. 39,999 thousand. For the mobile version, Among Us can be downloaded for free but with ads, but these ads can be removed by paying Rp. 28 thousand.
Even though the Among Us sequel has been cancelled, Innersloth says players will still be able to enjoy the new content that has been planned for Among Us 2. “All the content we have planned for Among Us 2 will be present at Among Us 1, said Innersloth.
Innersloth is also currently developing several improvements to make the gameplay more interesting including server issues fixes, color blind support, friend or account system, and new stages.
