Riot Games’ official charity tournament, League of Legends: Wild Rift SEA Pentaboom Showdown, was announced a few days ago. The tournament which will be held on December 12 and 13 will have a different format each day.
Reported from official site, on the first day, 8 teams will be randomly selected to enter into group A and group B. Each team will fight each other using a point system. For every one win, they will get 1 point and will not get any points if they lose. The format on the first day is called the Round-Robin Best-of One.
On the second day, to be precise the last day of the tournament, all teams in group A and group B will advance to the quarter-finals or better known as the final. knockout. Each team will be placed according to their position in the group stage. In the early phase knockout and semi-finals, they will use the best-of-one system.
Meanwhile, in the final round, the best-of-five format will be used. Those who will compete for the third and fourth place will use the best-of three format.
The teams that have been eliminated in the quarter-finals will each receive US$3.5 thousand. The teams that are in second, third, and fourth place will each get prize money of 15 thousand US dollars, 10 thousand US dollars, and 7.5 thousand US dollars.
