The official permanent ban was imposed, Bonafide clarified the status of Rewind

The player is only a member of the community, not an official player.

The PUBG Mobile esports organizer in Indonesia has officially imposed a permanent ban, aka a ban on participating in all official tournaments of the battle royale game to players with IGN BFDRewind.

This was expressed directly through an announcement uploaded to the official PUBGMobile.esports.id Instagram account on Tuesday (6/4/2021). This sanction is given because Rewind has been proven to use the “Wall Hack” cheat.

Initially this case was revealed from a video on one of the social media containing players suspected of being part of Bonafide using cheats. He is seen using the “Wall Hack” cheat to freely penetrate the building.

This cheat was used by Rewind in an unofficial tournament from PUBG Mobile Indonesia. However, in order to maintain the credibility of the competition, this sanction is still imposed on the player and also as a stern warning to other players.

Before this announcement appeared, Bonafide had issued a clarification regarding the alleged use of cheats that were allegedly carried out by their players. They did not deny or deny this.

However, one thing that must be underlined is that Rewind’s status is not an official player from Bonafide, but only part of their community. The use of the name “BFD” which stands for Bonafide on the player’s IGN also occurs because the organization is free to every member of its community to use it.

“The first point, we have a PUBG Mobile division which consists of eight players, five of whom are Ucup, Hans4you, Botz, Licinnn, and Noox who are currently participating in PMPL ID. While the other three players are inactive, namely Storyboy, Cupaw, and Hans,” said Iman Taufik, Bonafide’s representative.

“The second point, we have a community, where everyone can join. Please note that our community members are not officially recognized players by Bonafide. One of the rules in our community is to give community members the freedom to use the Bonafide name to enter tournaments.”

“After we explored more deeply, it is true that one of our community members participated in the tournament using the name Bonafide. Unfortunately, one of our members actually used the Wall Hack cheat in the competition. We cannot justify this form of fraud and we have contacted the person concerned to be given a warning and internal sanctions,” he said.

In addition to Rewind, the three inactive players currently owned by Bonafide mentioned above also participated in the tournament in question. But the three of them did not know if Rewind used a cheat.

On the other hand, Iman also emphasized that the participation of community members to participate in the tournament does not require approval and get any facilities from Bonafide, even though they use the name of their organization.

As part of the Indonesian esports community, we certainly hope that an incident like this will happen again. For this matter, Bonafide immediately apologized to all those who had been harmed and admitted that they would be even stricter in terms of using the organization’s name to all community members who wish to use it.
