RRQ Mort's response to the disappearance of the PUBG Mobile Sanhok map on PMPL Weekday

In the eyes of RRQ Mort, the Sanhok PUBG Mobile map is no longer competitive to use in a competition as big as PMPL ID Season 4.

As we all know before PMPL ID Season 4 took place, the regular season of the highest PUBG Mobile competition in Indonesia again uses the Weekday and Super Weekend system. However, this time, the tournament organizer removed the Sanhok PUBG Mobile map to participate in the competition in the Weekday phase.

Every week, PMPL ID Season 4 regular season will hold Weekday and Super Weekend phases three times (3 weeks). Weekday is held every Tuesday and Wednesday, while Super Weekend is Friday to Sunday.

Although the points earned by each team on this Weekday are not counted, this phase is very important for them to get tickets to the Super Weekend, where the 16 teams with the most points in this phase will advance to the final round.

Every day in the Weekday phase, the organizers hold five games. Every Tuesday the map rotation used is Erangel-Miramar-Erangel-Miramar-Erangel, while on Wednesday it slightly changes to Miramar-Erangel-Miramar-Erangel-Miramar.

Meanwhile, Super Weekend will also hold five games every day, but with a different and always the same map rotation every day, namely Erangel-Miramar-Erangel-Sanhok-Erangel.

In other words, the Sanhok PUBG Mobile map, which last season was still presented in the Weekday phase, has been removed this time. This decision was certainly taken by the organizers for several considerations in order to maintain the integrity of the tournament.

The decision to remove the Sanhok PUBG Mobile map at Weekday PMPL ID Season 4 also received support from several PUBG Mobile Indonesia pro players, including RRQ Mort.

The new support of RRQ RYU, which last season managed to lead Geek Fam ID/LIVESCAPE to become PMPL ID Season 3 champion and successfully become the top fragger on the first day of week 1 in the Weekday PMPL ID Season 4 phase, admitted that he was happy with the decision.

“There are so many effects with the removal of the Sanhok map because it can be called a hockey map, right. Not to mention that there are many Indonesian teams that use META Healing on the map, so I don’t think it’s really competitive anymore,” said RRQ Mort to ONE Esports.

“It would be much better if you use large maps continuously like Erangel and Miramar because I think it’s really worth it,” he said.

What RRQ Mort said was certainly very reasonable and based on his experience while competing as a pro player in previous major competitions/tournaments.

Especially now with the use of the Semi-Hardcore TPP mode which makes players not sure where the enemy is, this is believed to further trigger the use of META Healing, if the Sanhok PUBG Mobile map is still played in the highest competitive scene. This will certainly tarnish the integrity of the competition.
