Ready to compete with PlayStation and Xbox, Huawei is rumored to be launching a game console
GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Huawei has been known to actively spawn a number of electronic devices, such as laptops and smartphones. Recently, the Chinese manufacturer was also rumored to be releasing a game console to compete with consoles owned by Sony and Microsoft, PlayStation and Xbox.
Just a reminder, Huawei itself made a game console in 2021. The console called Tron at that time was only intended to play mobile game titles on the Android platform. Later, rumors circulated that Huawei would be working on a high-powered game console that was no less sophisticated than the PlayStation and Xbox.
This news was blown by TomatoPrince. Apart from being rumored to be working on their own console, Huawei is also said to be releasing a gaming laptop. If true, this would mark Huawei’s entry into the segment.
“Believe it or not, I’m saying that Huawei is planning to create its own game console (which resembles) the PlayStation and Xbox. Before launching its console (let’s call it Matestation), Huawei might first get involved in the gaming laptop segment,” wrote @TomatoPrince on Weibo, quoted from GizmoChina, Monday (15/2/2021).
Because it’s still a rumor, it’s not yet known how this gaming console and laptop will look, let alone a schedule for its arrival to the market. Previously, the Honor manufacturer, which was affiliated with Huawei, had also launched a gaming laptop called the Hunter V700. Since last November 2021, Honor has officially separated from Huawei.
