This news from DAMWON Gaming surprised many fans as Khan plays in the same position as their top laner star Jang “Nuguri” Ha-Gwon. This seems to be a sign that Nuguri will leave the 2021 Worlds champion.
Since becoming a free agent, Nuguri is reported to have had many offers from big teams outside the LCK (Korean LoL League), such as teams from the LPL (China LoL League).
LCK reporter Ashley Kang said that Nuguru would be leaving LCK and joining the team from LPL.
According to a report from Yoon Min-sup @midnoflash and Daniel Lee of @TheKukminDaily:
Nuguri is set to leave #LCK, likely to the LPL.

News from TheKukminDaily says:
For almost 10 days, the domestic team has been working hard to recruit Jang Ha-kwon. As competition heats up, the number of bids soars, and some teams are known to have offered unprecedented prices comparable to Chinese offerings. However, it seems that Jang Ha-kwon decided to go to China with the consideration of his team roster.
A DAMWON official said, “Jang Ha-kwon [Nuguri] said he was going to the China team 3-4 days ago.” Another team official said, “It was the player himself who contacted him that he was going to China and made no more offers.”
For DAMWON’s new signing, Khan, last season did not play consistently in the LPL but DAMWON believes that he can play even better with them in the LCK. Khan will be joining the star-studded team, Canyon, ShowMaker, Ghost and BeryL.
