Ex Pro Player CSGO Shroud Worried More Players are Moving to Valorant

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro player, Michael “shroud” Grzesiek is again involved in the debate between CSGO and Valorant. Shroud is worried about the future of CSGO, with more and more players moving to Valorant.

When Riot’s tactical shooter game was released in 2021, players immediately compared Valorant to CSGO, one of Valve’s legendary tactical shooter games. FPS fans have been debating Valorant with CSGO, where both games now have their own community of players.

shroud was one of the first players to claim Valorant would overtake CSGO’s popularity. Now, watching Valorant’s player growth make him even more worried about the future of the game he’s been playing for all those years.

In his recent stream, Shroud acknowledged the impact of Valorant’s quick success. The Twitch streamer argues that Valorant’s growth jeopardizes CSGO’s future.

“I’m worried for CS, if they don’t do something new and fun. I wouldn’t be surprised if (Valve) let it (CS) die, but I doubt it. CSGO is their baby,” he said.

For your information, at the beginning of 2021, Valorant managed to beat Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s revenue. According to a report from Superdata, Valorant’s total revenue rose 39 percent, with player numbers up 29 percent from December to January.

Several professional CSGO players have also turned to Valorant. One of them is Ethan Arnold, who at the end of last February officially switched his FPS career from Counter Strike: Global Offensive to Valorant by joining the professional team 100Thieves.
