BOOM Esports Wins DOTA 2 ESL Indonesia Championship Season 2
GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – The Grand Final of the ESL Indonesia Championship Dota 2 closed with a perfect victory by the most accomplished team since 2021, BOOM Esports.
BOOM Esports, which recently changed its name from BOOM ID, did dominate this tournament from the Group Stage which was held from 16 July to 6 September 2021.
Throughout that round, BOOM even only lost 1 game against PG Orca at the end of the season. In this Grand Final round, BOOM can’t even be beaten by 1 game.
At the event presented by Indofood with Chitato, Good to Go, Pop Mie, and Mercedez as Premium Sponsors and supported by Acer Predator and Logitech as Official Partners, there were 4 teams competing. The four teams are BOOM Esports, EVOS Esports, PG.Barracx, and Alter Ego.
They advanced to the Playoffs this time because they managed to occupy the highest 4 positions in the final standings of the Group Stage. BOOM ID who is ranked 1st will face Alter Ego (ranked 4) in the semifinals. Meanwhile, EVOS Esports (ranked 2nd in the Group Stage) had to fight PG.Barracx (PGB).
The semifinals began with a match between EVOS and PGB. Unfortunately, despite carrying the Dota 2 branch of the national team for the 2021 SEA Games, PGB still had to surrender to EVOS with a final score of 2-1.
On the other hand, BOOM Esports doesn’t seem to have any trouble defeating Alter Ego, which is actually also reinforced by seasoned players.
The final prediction between BOOM and EVOS (Bo3) may indeed have been predicted by the Indonesian Dota 2 community, because these 2 teams are arguably the strongest in the current Dota 2 scene.
The first game ran smoothly without any obstacles passed by BOOM. They closed the game quite quickly at 34:30 minutes with a score of 29-10. Fortunately, the second game was more intense.
BOOM is still leading the game but EVOS seems to have a lot of momentum to turn things around (comeback). Unfortunately, for EVOS supporters, that hope never came.
BOOM also has the right to take home US$6500 after closing the second game with a win (41-29) at 54:30 minutes.
After his victory, Alfi “Khezcute” Sharin said, “One of the reasons is because the system in the Dota 2 BOOM division has been well-formed. It’s also possible that BOOM always tries its best to solve its internal problems without getting emotional, whether it’s a matter of mentality or game technicality.
“Maybe we are the ones who understand the best how to play Dota 2 correctly,” when asked the reason why BOOM has dominated the Indonesian Dota 2 martial arts world since 2021.
As for his opinion about his last fight against EVOS, Muhammad “inYourDream” Rizky said, “In my opinion, EVOS is not very stable. Maybe it’s because the carry player isn’t the original EVOS roster.”
In addition to the prize money, with this victory, BOOM is also entitled to the opportunity to compete in an international tournament entitled ESL Clash of Nations Bangkok 2021 (25-27 October 2021) in Thailand.
In this tournament, BOOM will face the best teams from countries in Asia Pacific (Indonesia, Malaysia-Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia-New Zealand, Philippines, and India) to win a total prize of US$50,000.
