Preview – AMD Ryzen 7 1800X : Comeback Is Real !!
After a long wait (and was mistaken for “PHP – the giver of false hope”), finally AMD on March 2, 2021 launched a processor based on the architecture RYZEN with 14 nm fabrication, and it turns out that this processor can be said to be very good tight, and AMD delivers these processors at a very attractive price point.
Overview
JAKARTA, PEMMZCHANNEL.com – Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) is a multinational semiconductor company based in Sunnyvale, California, United States, that develops their own processors, and eventually becomes fabless when GlobalFoundries split from AMD in 2009.
As we know, the last few years, AMD has experienced significant difficulties to constrict the two biggest companies that become the producers’ biggest opponents microprocessors namely NVIDIA and Intel, both on the graphics card and processor side. In 2010, AMD dared to stand proudly in the graphics card market with their Radeon HD 6000-series, and – the legend – Phenom X6 1100T for the processor market.

Entering 2012, AMD suffered a pretty big blow for their FX series processors based on the Bulldozer, because Intel has released the Ivy Bridge series which is arguably quite kill AMD for the processor market, but for the graphics card, AMD issued the Radeon HD 7000 series – especially the Radeon HD 7870 XT and HD 7970 – which head-to-head able to “nudge” NVIDIA with their GeForce GTX 600 series. AMD also briefly stood on the podium with the Radeon R9 290X, Radeon Fury X and Fury Nano as well as introducing HBM technology or High-Bandwidth Memory.
After those heydays, AMD has arguably “disappeared” from the world of graphics cards and processors, with the less successful FX processors based on their Vishera and Radeon R9 300 series. However, AMD is hitting the world again peripherals with Radeon RX 480, 470, and 460, graphics cards and AMD also had time to provide teasers back in 2021 about microprocessors”Zen“

AMD Ryzen 7 – Bargain AF!!!!
Let us explain a little here, RYZEN R7 1700 is faced directly with Intel Core i7 7700K, RYZEN 7 1700X with Intel Core i7 6800K, RYZEN 7 1800X with Intel Core i7 6900K. With price point head-to-head which is very interesting, of course we wonder, did AMD onlyimaginary with the performance of each processor?
Hands On Time !!!
Pemmz friends, this time we managed to get a direct opportunity to “play” with AMD’s latest flagship processor, the RYZEN 7 1800X.
Key Specification
Brand | Model | Cores (Threads) | Clock rate (GHz) | Voltage | Cache | TDP(W)
Base | Boost | XFR | L2 (kB) | L3 (MB)
RYZEN 7 | 1800X | 8 (16) | 3.6 | 3.7/4.0 | 4.1 | TBA | 512 x 8 | 8 x 2 | 95 |
1700X | 3.4 | 3.5/3.8 | 3.9 | TBA | 95
1700 | 3.0 | 3.15/3.7 | 3.75 | TBA | 65 |
Let’s Test It…
Because this article is only a preview, we only show a few synthetic benchmarks or rather teaser to friends of Pemmz, and here are the specifications we use for: bench us this time:
- AMD RYZEN 7 1800X (….)
- ASUS : Crosshair VI Hero
- RAM : Vengeance® LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15 Memory Kit (running on JEDEC settings *PC-17000, 2133 MHz C17)
- PSU : Thermaltake SMART 600W
- VGA : MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GT OC
Immediately without further ado we show the scores generated from this processor.
Cinebench R15

Tentative conclusions…
With a little data above, we can already have an idea of how RYZEN performs in the rendering case and synthetic benchmarks. It turns out that RYZEN has excellent performance and is able to match Intel processors that even have a price > $1000, namely i7-6900K.
After almost 2 years meditate on the mountain, AMD is able to provide comeback which is very surprising. From performance per watt and price to performance AMD FX series, AMD RYZEN is a breakthrough which is very extraordinary.
Great job AMD!!!
Look forward to our full review in the next article/video!!!
