How to Set YouTube on IndiHome TV

Questions often arise, how do I set up YouTube in IndiHome or why can’t IndiHome play YouTube? More or less these are the questions that often arise from IndiHome customers who use YouTube on the Set Top Box or more easily called STB.

Actually YouTube is an application that has been provided by Google and can be accessed through devices with the Android TV operating system certified by Google, such as STB (Set Top Box) Android TV devices, tablets, smartphones and Smart TVs.

But now, UseeTV Set Top Box (STB) uses the AOSP version of Android or the Android Open Source Project. and the YouTube application installed on the Set Top Box is an application that has been provided by Google in the open market.

On Android AOSP (Android Open Source Project) there is no GMS or Google Mobile Service, and APIs and applications that have been provided by Google, such as Youtube, Play Store, and other default applications from Google.

To get GMS, the device must be certified by Google, which of course has a license that must be paid by the operator or provider of the STB (Set Top Box) device.

The advantage of GMS is that the device can have access to all the applications available on the Google Play Store, and get regular updates if there is an update from Google, and that will make the experience better.

This problem or the suspect is actually in the YouTube application which is embedded in the UseeTV Set Top Box which is an open market version, the application is still using version 1.2.7 due to no more support from Google.

Therefore, in the following, I will tell you how or alternative steps for you to be able to open the YouTube application through the IndiHome STB (Set Top Box).

Steps to Install the Smart YouTube TV Trial Application on the IndiHome Set Top Box You Have.

  • First, you enter the application menu and open the Usee Store application. Once opened then enter.
  • And open Entertainment or you can press the right button on your IndiHome Set Top Box remote and open the ‘SMART YOUTUBE TV’ application.
  • After that, install the Smart YouTube TV Trial app (application). And after it’s finished installing, please open the application and press ‘LITE ALT’ (far right).
  • Then, you select Allow, so that the apps (applications) can be stored in your Set Top Box memory. And Select ‘GET CROSSWALK’.
  • After everything is complete, then wait for the installation process of the Crosswalk Project apps (applications) to 100%.
  • And install XWalkCoreLibrary (right side). If it is already installed, select ‘DONE’ which is on the left.
  • Then you open the Smart YouTube TV Trial Application on the Apps or Applications menu.
  • Please wait for the initial loading when entering and don’t press the back button (back). If there is a notification just select NO (no).
  • Then select the ‘Usee YouTube Signed Out’ option if you don’t want to bother logging in using a Google account.

Then the YouTube application with a different appearance is ready for you to use, please study each function on the menu.

Actually there are lots of very easy ways to overcome or setting YouTube on IndiHome TV. One of them is by updating or updating the YouTube version on the STB (Set Top Box) that you have.

And in addition to the above method, this method is also worth a try. The reason that often becomes a problem is because maybe the YouTube version in your Set Top Box has expired. Especially now that there is an update available from the YouTube app for Android TV or for STB IndiHome.

You can enter the Usee-Store, and select YouTube and then uninstall the YouTube apps. When finished, then you select the latest version of YouTube that has been offered.

However, if your Android STB (Set Top Box) does not appear the latest version, then you can prepare a flash or smartphone and download the YouTube application manually.

Well, that was the setting method or if your IndiHome can’t YouTube. Thank you so much and hopefully useful from me.
