Game Review: Far Cry 4, One of Ubisoft's Best Games of the Year, Leaving AC: Unity aside
The fourth game in the Far Cry series does offer many new features and a more pronounced experience both in terms of gameplay and in terms of the story of this game. This game, which is set in a fantasy place around Mount Everest, seems to be able to amaze us since the first trailer was launched.
Overview
This time we will play the role of Ajay Ghale, a middle-aged man who gets the last request from his mother to take his Abu to Kyrat, his birthplace. Because of this request from his mother, Ajay traveled from the United States to Kyrat, but unexpectedly when the trip was near, the bus Ajay was traveling in was stopped by the local authorities under King Pagan Min. Ajay was arrested and taken to Pagan Min’s residence, this is where the story of Far Cry 4 begins.
Ajay will be asked to wait for Pagan Min. Well, here you have two choices where the first choice is to run away and the second is to wait for Pagan Min. If you are waiting for Pagan Min, then you can immediately end this game because it is one of the alternate endings of this game. If you choose to escape, then you will be able to start your adventure as a member of the Golden Path army, a rebel army that opposes the ruthless rule of Pagan Min.
Gameplay
If we take a quick look not much has changed from the gameplay of Far Cry 4 and Far Cry 3, but you will be surprised because in this game you will find many new things, such as you can use a Gyrocopter to explore areas in Kyrat and use beasts as weapons. You. As usual as in Far Cry 3, you will get two sides of the game, namely the struggle for outposts and story missions. After that, you will be given two choices to fight in the style of Amita or Sabal who always have different desires.
You will often see Pagan and Golden Path troops fighting on the map, and you can also participate in these small wars to gain experience and sympathy from the Golden Path troops.
What we really like about this game is Ajay’s ability to “use” wild animals to attack enemies. You will get a short tutorial on how to do it. At the beginning of the tutorial, Ajay who we played was killed by a leopard who was able to climb the house where we were.
Graphics
The developer, Ubisoft Montreal, was able to properly maximize the capabilities of World Engine 2 in our opinion, because the open-world environment in Far Cry 4 is displayed very beautifully. Nepal mountains are able to hypnotize us with the diversity it has, ranging from wild animals to exotic animals featured in this game. In the last patch given by Ubisoft, we can even increase the optimal graphics presented by this game, because previously many parts of the scene were still too dark, which was probably meant to reduce the high rendering requirements of this game.
Oh yes, one more thing, we are fascinated by the character Amita in this game which we think is very beautiful. Amita is very well described by Ubisoft as an authoritative female warrior who is able to compete with Sabal in the leadership of the Golden Path. Amita, played by Janina Gavankar, made us choose her when we were given a choice of choosing Sabal or Amita.
Conclusion
Far Cry 4 will definitely get a lot of awards because of the completeness and perfection offered by this game, aside from Assassin’s Creed: Unity which gets a lot of criticism because of the many bugs found, we think this is one of the best games from Ubisoft.
