Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druid Completed Rathdown Build Up Quest

One of the new mechanics that players least expected in the Wrath of the Druids DLC for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is being traded, which is becoming an integral part of building Dublin’s notoriety.

Before some weapons, unique items, and special Irish armor can be obtained, players must prepare several “Trading Posts” to earn special currency to buy them.

To begin with, you must complete the “Rathdown Build Up” mission first, which is the mission of setting up the first Trading Post in Ireland.

While these quests aren’t particularly difficult, there are some facts that players should know to complete them as best they can, as the results of these quests affect how many special currencies can be generated.

How to start Quest

After successfully passing chapter 2 of the main mission in Wrath of the Druid, Eivor will talk to Azar, a one-eyed merchant from a foreign land. This allows you to take on the “Rathdown Build Up” mission, which is a series of opening Trading Posts throughout Ireland.

Azar will give you all the information about a location that you can turn into a profit center, which will benefit Dublin in a number of ways. While this quest is only optional, it’s a great one to take, as the passive generation of custom currencies can be put to better use later on.

Finding and infiltrating Rathdown

Merchants will mark Rathdown on the Eivor map, and this can indicate that its location is north of Dublin and east of Boyne’s Tomb. When someone approaches the location, be sure to scout from above with Synin’s help, as it will later reveal that the enemy numbers are few and scattered throughout the circular area.

Both stealth and open combat can all work here, as there are no unique enemies, although there are a number of elite enemies, so don’t be overconfident and stay cautious. Once the thug group is cleared, you can interact with the sign outside the only structure within Rathdown’s stone boundary to start building it immediately.

Build Rathdown

Before getting too deep into this leg of the quest, be sure to stock up on 1 tonne of Trading Post Supplies (found in Raids all over Ireland), as these resources are sorely needed to set up a Trading Post. If one has a decent stockpile (700 to 800 Trading Post Supplies), then Eivor can fully increase Rathdown.

In addition to the main structure, players can also build several smaller ones in Rathdown. This can increase the number of Cloths generated every minute and is well worth investing in Trading Post Supplies if one wants to maximize their business in Ireland.

Upgrade Rathdown

There are three additional structures you can build to increase the number of Cloths you gain per minute. Each one takes a piece of Trading Post Supplies to build, though it’s quite worth the investment for a constant take in a particular currency. The buildings that you can build include the Storehouse, Supply Depot, and Workman’s Cottage.

1. Storehouse

Building warehouses can allow workers to stockpile goods to make trade flow better. There are a number of small trinkets to loot, but this one is mostly for aesthetics and knowledge (besides the bonus Cloths you get).

2. Supply Depot

The most useful in Rathdown’s potential increase is the Supply Depot, as it comes with a berry bush that is obtained for free, certainly very useful to have after the skirmish to claim this Trading Post.

3. Workman’s Cottage

Tired workers certainly need a place to rest and recover, and this becomes a place for those who do the work. Although there are no gains in the game other than Cloths, they are great for filling areas in a satisfying way.

Completing Quests

You don’t need to fully upgrade Rathdown to complete this quest, but it’s well worth the time you do if anyone cares about this mechanic and trading in general. Once you’re done at the Trading Post, you’ll return to Dublin and meet Azar in their outdoor office.

When these quests are completed and submitted, more Trade Quests will be available later, however, you still have to find potential sites from the new Trading Post before Eivor can claim and upgrade them.

In addition, many more Trading Post Supplies must be picked up during “Raids” before this mission is feasible. Luckily, this won’t be a problem for most players, as it’s the best of the Vikings.
