3 Ways to Know Your Laptop's RAM Type (Without Disassembly)

1. Using Task Manager

1. First, please open the task manager by pressing the button Ctrl + Alt + Del simultaneously.

If your Speed ​​has a frequency of 2133 Mhz and above, you can be sure that your laptop’s RAM type is DDR4. But if the speed written in the Task Manager is below 2133 Mhz, it means that your laptop’s RAM is definitely using DDR3 or DDR3L.

2. Using CPU-Z

1. First, please download the CPU-Z application on your laptop first. You can directly download it here.

4. If it is finished, please open the application CPU-Z on your laptop.

5. Then, please click the menu tab Memory which is at the top. As shown in the image below.

3. Using Command Prompt

1. First, please open CMD or Command Prompt on your laptop. The trick, please go to search and type CMD. As in the image below.

2. Then, please type the command wmic MemoryChip get BankLabel, Capacity, MemoryType, TypeDetail, Speed, Tag . As in the image below. You can copy the command and right click on CMD to paste it.

3. Then, please press Enter.
