Ping System - Apex Legends Guide

Communication is the main factor to victory.

Like most games multiplayer especially team based, Communication is the most important factor for success or victory. Even in Apex Legends, it has a unique communication mechanism which is one of the factors that this battle royale game made by Respawn Entertainment was an instant success.

In Apex Legends have what’s called a system Ping, a unique mechanism that allows players to communicate with other players quickly, dynamically and efficiently without features voice chat.

First, set the Ping Key to make it easier and more comfortable to use.

How to Use the Ping System in Apex Legends

Using the Ping system in Apex Legends is very easy and easy to understand. Before pinging, the crosshair is useful as a pointer to ping. Point to something with your crosshair then press or click (user mouse) Ping Key which has been adjusted according to convenience. Later there will be a marker color appears on the screen as a marker. Apart from a marker, Legend or your character usually also performs a dialogue that only team members can hear.

Point the pointer to the item/place to be pointed then press the Ping Key that was set earlier.

For example, if you want to notify team members that there is an enemy in front of you, point to the location of the enemy and press the Ping Key, usually your character will talk “enemy spotted“or if there is a Carbine weapon lying on the floor and you press the Ping Key your character will talk “R-301 here.”

Ping Menu

Ping Menu very useful in Apex Legends because it contains a lot of information that can be shared by team members using the Ping system. Its use is quite easy. You just need to hold down the Ping Key button and later there will be several icons that can be selected according to the information you want to give to other team members.

Ping For Request Healing Items

When playing Apex Legends, you may often hear the character of team members shouting “I need healing“. This indicates that your team members need healing items to replenish their lost HP points.

There are two ways to Ping requests for healing items and one of them is to use the Ping system. The method is quite easy. Hold down the button Heal and you will see a menu of healing items there. Choose items healer you don’t have then press the button Request. Later your character will shout “I need healing” if you choose an item to recover HP points or “I need a shield” if you choose an item to recover Shield points.

Contextual Ping

Contextual Ping is created when you Ping a specific object. This includes all types of items lying on the floor or Supply Bin to items on the Supply Ship. Apex Legends is very smart in developing this Ping system. In addition to the characters that make sounds according to the things Pinged up to marker which will not be lost if other players do not respond.

For example if you ping the attachment object Extended Heavy Mag purple (epic) that is lying on the floor, then your character will speak”Extended Heavy Mag here, Level 3” as an indicator that not only provides information on the goods but also their quality.

Ping Request

Ping Request is one of the most useful functions in the Ping system in Apex Legends. With the Ping Request function, you use it when requesting specific items to team members. For example you need ammunition. To do a Ping Request to request ammunition from other team members, open the inventory menu then select an item or items in the weapon slot. If you need an attachment then choose the required attachment slot. Likewise if you need ammunition.

Cancel Ping

Point to the Ping indicator that you created and then press the Ping Key again to cancel it

If you give the wrong Ping directive and want to cancel it, it’s very easy. Point to the Ping indicator that you created and press the Ping Key button to remove the indicator.

Responding to Ping Team Members

One form of Ping response from team members. Dibs = you already have the item.

To respond to a Ping made by your team members, the method is more or less the same when you want to cancel the Ping that you made. Simply point to the Ping indicator made by a team member and then press the Ping Key button to respond to a Ping made by a team member.
