[Genshin Impact] Ore Farming Tips and Locations

To make weapons in Genshin Impact, you need some materials. In addition to the blueprint or recipe for the weapon you want to make, you need another material called Ore. There are three types of Ore used to make weapons, Iron Chunk, White Iron Chunk and Crystal Chunk.

Not only making weapons, you can also use these minerals to make weapons level enhancing stones belonging to the character. Then how can you get it?

How to Get Ore

On the map Genshin Impact area, you will find glowing minerals or ores. Just hit the mineral until the HP bar runs out. So that the mineral HP bar runs out, it is recommended to hit it using a character who uses a two-handed weapon or a Claymore type such as Diluc, Noelle, Razor, Chongyun and Beidou.

The Best Locations for Mining Ore

There are several locations that we consider the best for obtaining or mining ores of each type. Here are the locations that you can go to to get Iron Chunk, White Iron Chunk, and Crystal Ore.

Iron Chunk

Iron Chunk is very easy to find in the mining area near Mondstadt. In terms of quality, Iron Chunk is indeed the least valuable but in abundance. But still, you need this mineral for some equipment including weapons.

White Iron Chunk

White Iron Chunk can be used as a material or materials in Blacksmith. This material can be used to make some rare equipment and can also be turned into stone-making materials to increase the level of your character’s weapon (EXP Ore).

Below are the areas we recommend locating or farming the White Iron Chunk in:

Stormbearer’s Point

At the northeasternmost path point, head a little north to find a bunch of White Iron Chunk chunks as well as a bit of Crystal Chunk.

Musk Reef

To reach Musk Reef, you must activate the wind puzzle at Cape Oath. After doing so, a place called Spiral Abyss will appear as a teleport point. Musk Reef or the Spiral Abyss portal is a good area to farm White Iron Chunk every day.

Dihua Marsh

In one of the caves southwest of the Statue of the Seven at Dihua Marsh is the source of the White Iron Chunk. There was a small group of Hilichurls in the area but it wasn’t a big problem.

Windwail Highlands

A mining point containing many pieces of White Iron Chunk can be found on the east side of the waypoint north of the Dawn Winery.

Crystal Chunk

Crystal Chunks are quite rare (so far) non-elemental crystals. They have a shiny blue color that makes them the most visible differentiator compared to the other minerals in the game.

Below are confirmed areas where Crystal Chunks can be found:

Search At Stormbearer Point and Stormterror’s Lair

Crystal Chunks are quite rare. Even in areas where they can still be found, it’s actually a bit more difficult to farm these minerals. One of the areas we recommend getting Crystal Chunks is in Stormterror’s Lair and search the area for some Crystal Chunks.

After completing the After the Storm quest or mission, you will get more precise locations to mine Crystal Chunks in Stormterror’s Lair.

Near Neighborhoods in Qingce Village

This area is located near the southwest line to Qingce. See the map below for a more precise location.

The area is full of monsters so be prepared to fight when you enter the area.

Crystal Chunk Area in Guyun

In the most southeastern region of Liyue there is an island. This island was the site of the Geo Hypostasis Domain and elite bosses. From the Domain in Guyun, head towards the bat to find a large pointed rock with a broken boat on it.

After mining in the area, you can continue west again to find more Crystal Chunks. Be careful because this area is full of Ruin Guards so make sure your characters are ready for battle.

Caves at Mt. Aozang

Another great area for farming Crystal Chunks. First you can teleport to a waypoint on Mt. Aozang then headed to the foot of the mountain near the west side. On the north bank of a lake lies a large cave that houses a collection of Crystal Chunks.

Lingju Pass Entrance

To the west of the Statue of the Seven in Lisha, there are many Crystal Chunks.
